Anna’s Portfolio

Hi! My name is Anna. I’m going into sixth grade, and am currently working in tinkercad  to design a model of a trophy. I have used Adobe Illustrator to make vinyl cuts, drawings, and laser cuts. I used Google Sketchup to make 3D models of  snowmen, pencils, and buildings. I then started to use tinkercad to make my dream office, my trophy, and so many other things.

My favorite project in tinkercad are the Petronas Towers. I like this model the most because it’s the most detailed and, in my opinion, looks the best. It looks the most realistic out of all my projects. The architecture project had several steps to it. First, we had to research our building. I explored google maps and lots of pictures. Then, we had to draw our buildings on adobe illustrator. This gave us exact dimensions. The last step was to make a 3D model in tinkercad. That was the best part. I enjoyed making the Petronas Towers look realistic and detailed! My favorite project in tinkercad are the Petronas Towers. My progress through Adobe Illustrator started when we were assigned to make a company business card. My company name is “Cool Designs”. This was probably one of the most simple designs we worked on. Then, we were introduced to the vinyl cutter. We had to design a nametag. The vinyl cutter only cuts lines, so it was hard to remember not to use fill! One of the more recent assignments was the architectural project. The first step was to do research, then we had to draw 2D versions of our buildings. We had to trace pictures and floorplans. I think I have improved a lot in Illustrator!

My progression through tinkercad started with a few very simple projects. One of the assignments was to find the exact dimensions of an object in the room and build it. I chose to make a table. Our next project was to take our 2D logos and make them three dimensional. While doing it, I explored the community shape generators in tinkercad. My favorite tool in tinkercad is the box tool because it’s one of the most basic shapes and can be resized easily. I enjoyed designing “the sustainable toothbrush”. I had to be creative . Then we had to take a design from thingiverse and recreate it. It was hard! My favorite and the most complex project I’ve done so far are the Petronas Towers. It took a while to complete but the end product was great! I think I’ve come far in tinkercad and have enjoyed it a lot!

My “Free Time Vinyl Cut is my favorite Adobe Illustrator document because I spent a lot of time working on it. Most of these stickers are for family members. I copied the dogs from my nametag vinyl. I traced the golfer from a picture. This wasn’t an assignment, but I chose to do this in my free time. I really enjoy using the vinyl cutter.
