Drumbeat San Diego

FAB LAB San Diego had the pleasure to participate in Drumbeat San Diego, last Saturday 5th at Queen Bees Art & Cultural Center in North Park, San Diego.
Our director, Katie Rast made an inspiring presentation about the FAB LAB network and the positive impact of digital fabrication tools in the community to a very diverse audience.

This participatory, hands-on event offered a variety of spaces for the technology community to connect with activists and groups, artists, filmmakers, citizen journalists, musicians and others who are interested in building information tools and using the open Internet to improve the local San Diego community.
We shared, learned and networked in a full day of cooperation and discussions in topics that ranged from hands-on workshops in new media to lectures in new media rights, from cutting edge web technology projects to food & health, and open source music tools galore.

A big congrats goes to Art Neill and Mera Szendro Bok from New Media Rights, and all the volunteers for being the heads and hearts behind such a successful event and thanks to all the folks that came together to participate.
