fab lab product design day2

Today I made a little figure of a guy in a hazmat suit using mostly adobe illustrator. From Illustrator I printed the designs out on Mylar and vinyl. The machine that allowed me to do this was the Roland CAMM1 vinyl plotter which basically cuts designs into vinyl or any other type of material that can fit inside of it. This project took a lot thinking. The design element itself, the shapes, layering, colors and such,  involved quite a bit of creative thinking. The 3D part of the modeling took a lot of dimensional thinking, as I needed to try to imagine how the figure would be rendered in 2D to appear coherent in 3D. As of now, the project isn’t finished yet but I plan on completing it shortly.
