Last Day of Product Design

Today everything came together as we finalized our flatpack character designs. We also had a chance to have fun with the vector editing and making our own stickers.

One of the main goals of the class was to design and make a personalized character that would fold up to be 3 dimensional. We first had to design our character with Adobe Illustrator, a  vector editing software. Then it was sent to CutStudio before the Roland vinyl plotter cut it out of (you guessed it) vinyl. The decals were applied to a mylar base (also cut out by the machine) and then it was folded up into the finished product.

Today we were also able to design our own stickers using Illustrator, which are being cut out as I type.

It is cool seeing your design turn into a useful object. I wish I had a vinyl plotter at my house.
