Reflection on DIY Robotics: Circuit bending

DIY Robotics has been quite interesting in the first day. I had no real knowledge of the basics of electrical engineering before today, other than the ones covered by high school physics. At the beginning, all the information was rather intimidating, but now that that torrent of information is over, and the information has settled, I can understand it rather well. Specifically, I expanded my knowledge of the various possible components in a circuit and how to “bend” or hack them. We played with the circuits from a child’s “light sword” by adding potentiometers, which are adjustable resistors, and adjusting the voltage. I feel that I can understand and use the information I have been given. I am now looking forward to actually building a robot and then programming it.
