Programming 1C: Create Your Own Graphical User Interface

Create your own Graphical User Interface (GUI) will introduce students to GUIs, and present industry design standards while teaching students how to use ActionScript to program their own animated interfaces. At the end of this course students will be able to create and animate their own GUIs and will understand action scripting in a way that will allow them to create a diverse range of animations and web applications, preparing them for future pathways in game design and interactive media.

The goal of this class is to design and animate different types of graphical user interfaces using ActionScript, giving the students the first step into programming with ActionScript. Through this class, students will be able to develop their own computer widgets including video and audio and online applications.

This class is designed in an interactive spirit that will give students the chance to design, create and script their own ideas. This course will be taught in a computer lab and will be taught using prepared examples that will be presented to the students. Afterwards, each student will apply the methods learned directly to their projects.
