3-D Printing: Make Your Own Inventions

2014-06-18 20.22.04
3-D Printers are changing how we design and make products in many fields, from biomedical devices to fashion. Learn how to be your own designer and create your own inventions. While learning fundamentals of engineering and design, students will work through a process of ideation that allows them to be the inventor, bringing their ideas to life through applied projects. We will focus on 3-D modeling and 3-D printing, the approaches to using these tools, as well as the impact that this technology has on the world around us. The LJCDS FabLab 3-D Modeling and 3-D Printing after-school program is a three-part series of classes that will advance students from learning the basics fundamentals of 3-D modeling to creating their own advanced product designs. This course is designed for students that are interested in making things, whether those things are artistic or technical in nature. There is no prerequisite for the class. Newcomers and enthusiasts are welcome, as this class is designed to accommodate both. This class is beginner-friendly. Students with previous experience will be given more challenging projects.
