National Day of Civic Hacking
This past weekend Fab Lab hosted National Day of Civic Hacking; the event was in collaboration with the Code for America Brigade and Open San Diego, and designed to solve community problems through code . Saturday started with introductory speeches and a free lunch, and then launched into classes and group projects. People from all over San Diego came together to make some awesome pieces of work ranging from beginner animated funny faces to a street sweeping app that will help San Diego drivers avoid getting tickets. It was a fun and productive day, and we cannot wait for next year.
Sometimes the hardest part of coding is deciding which ideas to use; this is especially difficult when you have dozens to choose from.
