Hi my name is Calvin. I am going into sixth grade. I am working on Blink, and a voltage and current processor.

During class we built an ultrasonic range finder .An ultrasonic range finder is an item that can find range with an ultrasonic speakers and receiver. There is a digital monitor that tells the distance of an object in any measure of programmed metric units. The monitor has thirty-two LED’s. It can only show numbers to nine thousand nine hundred ninety- nine to negative nine thousand nine hundred ninety- nine. There cannot be four decimals in the board a time. There can.  It works by sending an ultrasonic sound wave to the object and it will bounce off the object the returning to the receiver. Then some microprocessors will calculate the distance the object is. The Arduino board will send show the distance on the digital monitor .It can change in a certain amount of speed programmed. I liked this project because it works with sound. The link is here

We had also built a circuit that used led’s to measure to flash with the music. There were six LED’s. We learned about sound and how fast the sound barrier is and record that included the sound barrier.

I went on a field trip to Balboa Park on Wednesday of the last week to the Ruben Fleet Science Center and the art museum. We started a around 9:40 in the morning and came back around 3:50. At the Ruben Fleet Science Center, we studied illusions made by mirrors and lights. There many hands-on activities and no touch displays. That day was fun.

Some gadgets that we got to use were potentiometers, and buttons. There were also some speakers too. There are always a breadboard for each circuit. The name “breadboard” was actually a board to cut bread back in the older days. The people that built circuits actually used a breadboard to build the circuits.

Wires are like water pipes because the wires do not change voltage unless it runs into a user or a resistor. Water pipes don’t change psi until it has run into a clog or a smaller pipe.

Some programming language is integer and digitalWrite. There is pinMode and Serial.print and Serial.Println. Those are very important language.

I had a good time at this class.
