Harrisonwang

Hi! My name is Harrison Wang. My favorite food is pie. My last name is Wang. I have a great family. In my Mom’s family, I am the smallest, but in my dad’s family, I am the oldest. My mom’s name is Manqi and my dad’s name is Harry. I go the Ocean Air. It is one of the best schools in San Diego. I live in Carmel Valley. I have a big house. It is 3,500 square feet.

First Week:

Our first day of class we learned that the easiest way to think of a circuit is like water – the pump is the battery, the pipes are the wires, etc. The first week we made different circuits with LEDs, buttons, potentiometers, and other things.  We also measured voltage and current. We mostly use Arduino for our circuits.

Second Week:

We made an ultrasonic rangefinder. It shoots ultrasonic sound then checks how long it takes for it to get back (in microseconds). It then translates that into centimeters and displays it on a screen.  And if you want to know my name is Harrison Wang.  This camp was really fun.  The best part of this camp was the second week when we made the ultrasonic range finders.  Friday, we learned about the sonic boom.  I liked that part because I like the F86 Sabre and it goes about 760 miles per hour.  That’s as fast as the sonic boom.  The speed of sound is constant.  The second week was also the hardest out of all of the weeks.  We had to use a lot of codes.

This is my code for making LEDs blink when music is being played.

Third Week:

The third week was OK.  It was kind of like a wrap up week.  I still learned a lot of things.    I also built the LED sensor.  The lights flash to the music that I was playing.  We had to use a lot of thing to make the LED sensor.  We had to use a speaker, a 3.5 mm wire, 1 LED light, a lot of jumpers, 2 diodes, and two resistors.  The best part about this whole camp is the field trip.  It was awesome.  We went to the science center and the arts center.  I kind of got scared because there were a lot of homeless people near the science center.  I really had fun.
