Intro to Programing 2014

Hi. My name’s Alec Hudson. In this class I have learned how to make basic videogames using a program called scratch. In this program I, personally, have made 6 videogames. My most complex and fully complete, as of now (Monday the 28), is my Capture the Flag game. In this game, the goal is to get more flags then your opponents. The hardest part for me was making the 3-player option. In order to do this I had to mess with hide and appear a lot. Once I got it down though it turned out really cool.
My second project was a Lunar Lander project. This was far more simple then most of my games. In this game I learned how to use the next costume block efficiently. The Goal of this game was to reach the moon without being destroyed by the asteroids. It was extremely hard and I personally only beat it three times. I thought overall it was more of a I have some spare time, what should I do type of game instead really getting into it.
My third project was Frogger, which was extremely simple. This was my first true game I made, before this I had only made an animation and an interaction demo named hungry cat. In this game you play as a small black box that tries to get across a road with frogs instead of cars.
Another project I made was Tic-Tac Toe, which I consider to be my first big project along with Capture the Flag and Super Ninja Jump Battle. We made this game as a class instead of Individually. This introduced us to selective placing of things depending on where you clicked.
My newest game is Burger Clicker. This game was based of off he hit flash game, Cookie Clicker. The goal of this game was to click on the burger in order to get more burgers. Once you had a certain amount of burgers you could buy things to automate the burger clicking. Within a few minutes you could be making millions of Burgers a second.
My final game that I made is Super Ninja Jump Battle. This is my largest game I made in Scratch. The goal of this game is to kill your two opponents by slide tackling and punching them. This game I’m guessing took about 5 hours to make. This class has taught me how to effectively program and let me make fun games like this.
