Noah’s Portflio

Hello my name is Noah Shih, I’m in 6th grade, and I’m working on building circuits and programming.

During my circuitry class and programming class, I’ve built an ultra sonic range finder which sends extremely fast sound waves, that we can’t hear.  This piece of machinery  sends sound waves to find the distance between my machine and the thing in front of it.  It calculates the time the sound wave takes to echo back to find the distance in centimeters.  I also made a circuit that uses a speaker to make sounds and make LEDS(lights) flash with the music.

These are two of my codes for the ultra sonic range finder and for the speaker with LEDS(lights) flashing :

During my programming class we’ve programmed a variety of games and animations through scratch and Java.  During scratch I’ve made a brawl game, scribbling game, and many kinds of running games.  I’ve made a project that is an animated scary monster, made through Java, which has horns that change color.  It has been a very wonderful time working in this programming class learning how to program.

These classes have taught me many things about programming and circuitry which could really come in handy during the future.   After I finished my last day in these two classes, I was very sad to leave this amazing camp, but also very exciting holding so much useful knowledge.  It also has been really fun, so I think I may continue making circuits, using Arduino, and working with Java or scratch.
