Hi, my name is Torin and I am going into grade 5

blink

This is a simple circuit that is programed to make the led blink. The code has a delay you want up to 32226 milliseconds You can have more leds.

Range finder

An ultrasonic range finder is built to detect range with the ear piercing ultrasound (it would be ear piercing if we could hear it.) It is interesting because the ear piercing sound it lets off is so loud we do not even pick it up in our ear drum so it appears to make no sound! You need to put you’re ear next to it to at least hear a little bit of it!

We learned that crystals can turn sound into electricity and people use microphones next to streets to power lights! When I think of sound, I think about talking. We use our vocal cords to talk. We use our ear drums to hear. In sound, pressure makes sounds louder. Sound frequency is the pitch, high or low. If you go faster than sound, it sounds like whirring engine, a sonic BOOM. Normal sound all goes at the same speed. We used a sensor that tells how many centimeters away something is from the time it takes sound to bounce back. It puts the centimeters on the display.

sound reactive light

Light reacts from the sound coming out of the computer: “does not work to detect random sound” you need jumpers, diodes, leds, and resistors to create. We went to a radio website to play music, and we wired a speaker to play the music. We connected it to Arduino and it reads the voltage and averages it from 0 to 1023. Arduino is bad at using small numbers so it uses these. When the sound was really loud it lit up all of the LEDs. When it was kind of loud, it did 2 LEDs. When it wasn’t loud at all, it wasn’t any LEDs.

I like class because  might learn something cool. I do not like class because I always get headaches
