Prototypes: Gesture Controlled Recipe Interface

Conducted by Marnick Menting (a student at Master Industrial Design at Eindhoven University of Technology), the gesture controlled recipe interface was carried out at the Interactive Cognition Lab at the department of Cognitive Science at the University of California San Diego. This project was coached by David Kirsh from ICL and by Kees Overbeeke from the Designing Quality in Interaction group at Industrial Design.

At FAB LAB SD we provided Marnick with laser cutting services for the acrylic box that host the IR LEDs controller; from his original design precise shapes were cut on 1/8″ opaque white acrylic and assembled as a press fit box.
