Saturday STEAM Series 2 @ New Childrens Museum: Wearable Electronics

The New Children’s Museum is pleased to announce the all-new Saturday STEAM Series! In partnership with FabLab San Diego, we will be offering a series of STEAM-focused workshops throughout the year. Through fun and creative projects, children will gain a fundamental understanding of engineering concepts, electronics and design. Our Saturday STEAM Series is appropriate for children age 6 to 10. Workshops will be held in the Arts Education Center.

*Registration fees include all materials and siblings receive a 10% discount on registration!

March Workshops

Saturday STEAM Series 2: Electronic Wearables
Create unique accessories to brighten your look! Design a custom piece or give new life and light to an old item. Kids will learn wiring and circuitry while working with LED lights to animate their outfits!

Dates: March 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 10am-12pm
Pricing: $200/member; $220/non-member

Saturday STEAM Series 3: Paper Circuits
Create an animated art piece! Combining the creativity of paper craft with the engineering of circuits, kids will make paper creatures and scenes that light up and move!

Dates: September 12, 19, 26 and October 3 from 10am-12pm
Pricing: $200/member; $220/non-member

 

Saturday STEAM Series 4: Making Music with Electricity
(Session only includes three dates)
Learn how to make sounds using electricity! By creating circuits that make notes and tones, kids will learn about the concepts of sound and conductivity. Students will make pianos from bananas and use other everyday objects to create music!

Dates: November  7, 14 and 21 from 10am-12pm
Pricing: $160/member; $175/non-member

Cancellation and Refund Policy: Program sessions are subject to cancellation or change if the enrollment numbers are not met. You will be notified at least 14 days in advance if your session is cancelled and will receive a full refund in the original form of payment. Should you choose to cancel your registration, you must provide notice 14 days in advance of session start date to receive a refund less a $20 administrative fee. No refunds will be given within 14 days of session start date. Cancellation refunds are issued in the form of a check and my take up to 3 weeks to process.
